Summer jobs and internships for young people supported by TARA
Every summer, teenagers and young adults supported by TARA gain their first professional experiences through internships and short-term jobs, helping them build confidence, skills and independence.
At TARA, we encourage young people to explore the world of work early on. These experiences allow them to discover different professional sectors, develop practical skills and understand workplace expectations.
Here are a few inspiring examples from this summer.

Discovering the professional world
Sharwan, from TARA Big Birds, started an internship at a climbing sports complex in Delhi while completing his exams. He learned climbing techniques and began developing teaching skills with the goal of becoming a trainer.
He also contributes to the centre’s social media development by creating promotional and informative content. His ambition is to continue working there while pursuing his college studies and building financial independence.

Learning new skills and cultures
Nandini, from TARA Girls and soon to join TARA Big Birds, completed an internship in the kitchen of the French Embassy in Delhi. She discovered French gastronomy and experienced the demands of a professional environment.
Originally planned for two weeks, the internship was extended and supported with a stipend to encourage her educational journey.

Building confidence and responsibility
Soni explored the education sector by supporting young children during the school holidays. She organised activities, told stories and helped create a nurturing environment for learning.
She also contributed to organising an event celebrating the birthday of the President of India, gaining valuable experience in teamwork and event coordination.
These opportunities allow young people supported by TARA to explore career paths, develop discipline and acquire essential life skills for their future.
