Community health support at TARA Outreach Centres
Through its outreach centres, TARA provides holistic healthcare support to vulnerable children and families, combining prevention, early intervention and access to medical services.
Since 2021, the TARA Outreach Centre in Saidulajab has implemented a community health initiative based on a comprehensive and preventive approach. The programme focuses on daily awareness, early detection of health issues and guidance for families to access appropriate care.
Families receive support to address minor health concerns before they escalate, along with information on hygiene, prevention and available healthcare services. Children in need are referred to medical facilities, and families are accompanied throughout the process.

A holistic approach to community healthcare
The programme includes mental health support, counselling sessions and regular health awareness activities. Social workers monitor children’s well-being and visit families when needed to ensure continuity of care.
Regular health camps enable early diagnosis and timely intervention, reinforcing a preventive healthcare culture within the community.
Improving access to medical care
TARA recently organised a one-day medical camp focusing on skin-related health conditions for children and families supported by the outreach programme. The initiative was conducted in partnership with a local hospital, allowing free diagnosis and consultation.
Doctors carefully examined each child, addressing both skin issues and other health concerns. Prescriptions were provided, and copies were kept by TARA to ensure follow-up and continuity of care.
While the camp successfully brought essential care to underserved communities, access to ongoing treatment remains a challenge due to medication costs. TARA continues to seek partnerships with doctors and healthcare providers to organise regular camps across Delhi.
