A matching grant programme allows companies to double or even triple the donations their employees make to non-profit organisations. If your employer offers this benefit, your donation to TARA could go twice as far β at no extra cost to you.
Companies like Cisco and Air Liquide already use matching grant programmes to amplify their employees’ support for TARA. If your company offers a similar scheme, we can help you set it up.
How a Matching Grant Programme Works
A matching grant programme is a corporate giving scheme where an employer agrees to match donations made by their employees to eligible non-profit organisations. For every rupee, dollar or euro an employee donates, the company donates the same amount β sometimes more.
The process typically works in three steps. First, an employee makes a donation to TARA. Then, they submit a matching request through their company’s HR or CSR portal, or through a giving platform like Benevity or CAF America. Finally, the company verifies the donation and transfers the matching contribution directly to TARA.
If your company does not yet have a matching grant programme in place but is interested in setting one up, TARA can assist with the process. We have experience working with international giving platforms and can guide your CSR team through the necessary steps.
Platforms We Work With
Several corporate giving platforms facilitate matching grant programmes for international NGOs. TARA currently works with the following.
Benevity
The world’s leading corporate giving platform, used by hundreds of multinational companies including Cisco. If your employer uses Benevity, you can search for TARA and submit a matching request directly through the platform.
CAF America
Charities Aid Foundation America facilitates tax-effective giving from US-based donors and companies to international organisations. If your US employer uses CAF America, TARA can be set up as an eligible recipient.
Other platforms
Your company may use a different corporate giving platform. Contact us and we will check whether TARA is already registered, or help complete the registration process together.
