TARA Girls hosts Child Welfare Committee members from Bihar

TARA Girls welcomed members and chairpersons of Child Welfare Committees from Bihar for an exchange on child protection and empowerment.

On 5 February, TARA Girls hosted Child Welfare Committee (CWC) members and chairpersons from 22 districts of Bihar as part of their induction training. The visit created a platform for meaningful dialogue between CWC representatives, TARA staff and children.

Participants discussed key challenges and strategies for protecting children, strengthening support systems and encouraging their development and independence.

Sharing experiences and aspirations

The meeting was also an opportunity to share experiences, explore innovative approaches and encourage the aspirations of the children supported by TARA.

CWC members interacted directly with four TARA Girls and learned about their dreams:

  • Varuni dreams of becoming an artist through painting.
  • Kiran hopes to pursue photography and capture meaningful moments.
  • Rimi aspires to become an educator and share her passion for learning.
  • Naida wants to become a professional chef and shared her love for cooking.

The participants encouraged each of them to pursue their goals and develop their talents.

A moment of solidarity and commitment

The visit concluded with a collective rendition of β€œHum Honge Kamyaab” (β€œWe shall overcome”), symbolising shared commitment to children’s well-being and protection.

Encounters like this strengthen collaboration between institutions, professionals and communities working for child protection.
