TARA is a registered NGO in India working with companies and foundations committed to creating a positive social impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We build long-term partnerships based on transparency, measurable impact and shared values. For 18 years, TARA has supported nearly 250 children and young adults, and 90 families across South Delhi through residential care, community outreach and aftercare, while training over 100 child protection professionals every year, multiplying our impact across the wider sector.
Community Outreach
TARA Outreach Centres work with families to identify vulnerability early and support children in a stable home environment whenever possible.
Residential Care
When children require protection, TARA Homes provide a safe, family-like environment with individual attention and quality care.
Youth Empowerment
TARA Big Birds supports young adults who grew up in our homes in developing independence, professional skills and confidence.
Family Intervention
When a child is at risk, TARA’s Family Intervention Programme works alongside parents and caregivers, mandated by the Child Welfare Committee, to make the family safe and prevent unnecessary institutionalisation. Learn more
Ways your company can support TARA
Corporate donations
CSR contributions support the sustainability and development of our programmes, covering education, healthcare, daily care and programme development. Corporate partners receive regular reports, financial utilisation certificates and impact updates. These reports serve as a mechanism for accountability and transparency, allowing partners to assess the impact of their support and identify areas where additional assistance may be needed. Each donation from corporate sponsors is tax deductible in India.
Payroll Giving
Employees can contribute monthly through payroll, creating a collective and sustainable way for the entire team to give back. It helps build a culture of giving within the organisation and fosters a sense of team spirit, as employees feel connected to a larger, shared cause.
Corporate Volunteering
Volunteering with an organisation like TARA can provide impactful opportunities for volunteers to share their expertise with the beneficiaries, gain experience in the domain of child protection and empowerment, and broaden their perspectives.
Matching Donations
When your employees donate to TARA, your company matches their contributions, doubling the impact with no additional effort from staff. It is a powerful way to amplify collective generosity and signal your organisation’s commitment to the cause. Find out more about matching grant programmes.
Programme Sponsorship
Directly fund a specific programme, a residential home, or the TARA Big Birds aftercare programme. This allows you to support a clearly defined area, from education and care to helping young adults transition into independence.
TARA operates in full compliance with Indian child protection and legal frameworks. Children are placed through decisions of the Child Welfare Committee, and each placement is reviewed regularly by public authorities including the District Child Protection Unit.
